Special Recognition, Azzie Winston

Azzie Winston, a native of Lexington, will be recognized for her hard work and dedication at Holmes Community College for over 30 years in Carroll Cafeteria.  The special ceremony will be held in McDaniel Hall during the Homecoming festivities on Oct. 26.

Winston might be an employee of Aladdin but she has been the foundation of the Carroll Cafeteria food service line for almost 30 years. She does not miss a smile going through the meal line and has welcomed three generations of students on the Goodman Campus.

Through the years, Winston’s contributions as a nutritionist on the food service team have been invaluable to Carroll Cafeteria’s success.

The college could not be more grateful for her time and service over the years. She loves all her “children” that she has fed over the years, but her customers are not just limited to students.

Winston has served state officials, governors and college presidents. Her delightful customer service is something the college will always be grateful for, many years to come.

Winston resides in Goodman and has one child, Shed Winston, Jr. (46) who is a social worker for the United States Army. She also has two grandchildren, Julian and Josephine.
