Art
Our studio art curriculum is designed to foster creative ability and appreciation of art. There are many opportunities for creative artists and scholars, including careers as art teachers, professional artists, animators, craftsperson’s, and designers. Some of these fields require advanced training beyond the undergraduate art degree. At HCC, you will learn the language of art, design principles, and elements of composition in a variety of art forms such as painting, drawing, ceramics, and design. Our program is designed to give you an opportunity to develop your technical skills, aesthetic awareness, personal expression, and critical analysis. In addition, you will study the history of art in both Western and non-Western cultures and art analysis, theory, and criticism.
