Holmes Community College Development Foundation was established more than 45 years ago to represent the nine-county district the college serves. Its purpose is to provide funds for scholarships for students attending Holmes as well as provide funds to support other educational activities of the college, such as faculty development, modernization of classroom equipment, student development activities and sponsorship of capital improvement campaigns.
The Development Foundation supports Holmes at every turn. From conducting capital campaigns for special projects to establishing scholarships for students, the Foundation puts every donation they receive to good use.
One past project has included renovating the old president’s home. It now has a new life serving as a venue to host on-campus gatherings. Holmes alumni, staff, and friends can book it for overnight accommodations, alumni meetings, or even host a wedding or reception in its beautifully landscaped courtyard.
The Foundation was also instrumental in the construction of the Chapel on the Hill – now considered a campus landmark. It continues to serve as the centerpiece for the campus and is utilized for choral performances, recitals, weddings, and religious activities.
One of the Foundation’s most successful Capital Campaigns, launched in 2011, more than doubled its original goal of 7 million dollars. Over five years, generous Holmes donors helped to raise over 14 million dollars to support student scholarships, instructional technology, program startup, and more.

The Foundation provides a network of donors who can enhance the quality of education for Holmes CC students and provide staff development opportunities for Holmes CC administration, faculty, and staff.
