Fine Arts Guitar
The Guitar area offers private lesson instruction for Guitar majors, other music majors, as well as non-majors. The Guitar area also performs for various school functions and community events within the nine-county HCC district.
Guitar Majors are required to earn 64 semester hours in addition to band or choir for the AA degree. The courses for the major include music theory, guitar lessons, music survey, recital class and class piano. There are numerous performance opportunities on campus in other ensembles:
- Guitar Ensemble
- Choir
- Marching band
- Jazz band
- Percussion ensemble
- Steel band
For those wanting to take guitar without majoring in music, Holmes offers Guitar for Non-Majors. This course is sequenced so that a total of 4 semester hours may be earned as electives.
