Suggested Browsers

The Holmes Community College web site is an HTML-5 compliant site. It is highly recommended that certain browsers are used to view the content of this site. Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome are the recommended browsers to work best for PC users, while Safari is best for Mac users. Whichever browser you choose, we highly recommend updating to any of the following browsers.  

  • Firefox 45 and above
  • Google Chrome 48 and above
  • Internet Explorer 11 (See security settings below)
  • Safari 9 and above
  • Opera 35 and above

Trusted sites in Internet Explorer

If the security level in Internet Explorer is set to high it may need to be lowered and holmescc.edu may need to be added to the trusted sites.  

How to lower security level and add trusted site in Internet Explorer 

  1. In Internet Explorer, go to the Tools Menu
  2. Select Internet Options
  3. Click the Security Tab
  4. Select Internet icon
  5. If the Security levels for this zone are set to High, click and drag the scroll bar down to Medium-high
  6. Click Apply
  7. Click on the Trusted sites icon
  8. Click on Sites
  9. Type holmescc.edu and click Add
  10. Click Close
  11. Click Apply and OK
