Rashad Williams, a Jackson native and graduate of Callaway High School, will be inducted into the Holmes Community College Sports Hall of Fame in recognition of his outstanding achievements both on and off the field.

Williams was a standout member of one of the first soccer teams formed at Holmes, where he played under Coach Curley. During his time with the Bulldogs, Williams earned titles such as Co-Offensive MVP and Best Forward. He led the team in assists and ranked second in goals scored. In addition to his athletic success, Williams excelled academically as a Dean’s Scholar and recipient of an athletic scholarship.

Among his most memorable moments at Holmes was the team’s pre-season training, an experience he recalls fondly.

“I was instantly treated as family,” Williams said. “It was also incredible to watch the growth of the Ridgeland Campus in real time.”

After finishing his studies at Holmes, Williams went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in business administration, graduating magna cum laude from Belhaven University, followed by an MBA from Jackson State University.

Williams’ passion for soccer continued after college as he played with the Jackson Chargers and GAFFA FC, remaining active in the Mississippi soccer community.

Professionally, Williams has built a distinguished career in finance and public service. He has held positions including accounting/auditing roles with the Mississippi Department of Human Services, corporate credit analyst and commercial lender at Community Bank, corporate credit analyst III at Trustmark National Bank, bank examiner with the FDIC and senior financial accountant at the Community Health Center Association of Mississippi.
