Dates: February 24 – April 25, 2025 (8 weeks, Monday – Friday)

Times: 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Location: Ridgeland Campus (The fall ‘25 session will be held on the Goodman Campus- Dates TBD)

Tuition: $700

MS RECONNECT GRANT FUNDING OPPORTUNITY — Students may get paid $10/hr. for attendance during training, AND the $700 Student registration fee may be covered. This opportunity is tentative- based upon meeting specific qualifications. These qualifications to receive grant funding include: applicants must be unemployed or make less than $15 per hour at their current job. Contact Melissa Love to inquire. Students MUST attend and follow course policies in order to receive grant funding.

Qualified workers in this field are in demand. This hands-on course is taught by instructors with heavy civil construction experience and specialized education.

Program curriculum will include, but is not limited to:

Heavy Highway Construction Equipment
Heavy Highway Construction Safety
Work‐Zone Safety
Soils
Site Work
Excavation Math
Interpreting Civil Drawings
Rigging Practices
Basic Principles of Cranes, including safety and communications
Project management
Money management
Class B license

After successful completion of the training each trainee will obtain the following certifications:

• Class B license
• ATSSA Flagger Technician
• ATSSA Traffic Control Technician
• Telehandler Operator
• Skid-Steer Operator
• Aerial Manlift Operator
• Forklift Operator
• Rigging Practices
• OSHA-10
• OSHA Fall Protection
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/ Automated External Defibrillator

All program applicants must:

• Pass a drug test.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
• Be at least 18 years of age.

*Additional requirements may be given upon enrollment in the Heavy Civil Construction training.
